Why commission a performing arts portrait painting with Rothschild Portraiture?
The portraits of this kind are my absolute favorite and inspire me to push the boundaries of my craft. No matter what your talent is – I’ll use my years of experience with the camera to capture that perfect moment, and then transform it into a painting that will leave everyone in awe.
You won’t find another portraitist who offers such dynamic on-location performance portraits.
You may commission your Rothschild portrait in one of the several classical sizes. A size that you choose is mainly dictated by three factors: viewing distance, a number of people in a portrait, and how a portrait is cropped. The main consideration is that a person in a portrait remains within 75-100% of their real life size.
Keep in mind that longer viewing distance increases recommended portrait size. For example, at 20 feet, 18 x 24” becomes a recommended minimum size for a one-person portrait (instead of a 16 x 20”). You will have a chance to preview your portrait in each size before making a decision.

Arts and sports portraits are usually done in full length, and so only larger canvases are suitable. The following are the recommended sizes:
30×40″ – suitable for an adult
24×36″ – suitable for a child
Every Rothschild portrait is a piece of original fine-art and is priced accordingly. I create portraits in several sizes that can accommodate almost any budget. Installment plans are an option. Leave your email and I’ll send you my complete price list.
I’ve searched far and wide for the framing that would perfectly compliment my portraits. When you see it in person – you’ll understand why. My favorite frames are a perfect blend of antiquities and modern styling – executed with a painstaking detail. The choice of the frame (Heirloom or Estate) is dictated by the size of the painting, but whether you like gilding or varnished wood – it is up to you (see the varnishes below).
Heirloom Fine-Art Frame
This elegant handcrafted wood frame has a classic decorative profile embellished with fine relief detail, complete with distinctive ornate sculpted corners, will take you back to a bygone era of craftsmanship. 3 1/2″ wide. Available in 5 finishes.
Rothschild Estate Fine-Art Frame
A beautiful and elegant neoclassical frame for larger portraits. 4 1/2″ wide. Available in 3 finishes. Finished with gold or sliver leaf. All of the gold leafing is imported from Italy and Germany and is applied by hand. This level of craftsmanship is usually reserved only for the serious art collectors and for the museums. Learn more.
Meet the artist
Rothschild Portraiture is headed by Alexander Rothschild. He lends his 10 years of experience as a photographer and a portrait artist to creating artwork of the most captivating quality. Student and admirer of classical visual arts, he has just the right touch for infusing his portraits with the aura of the bygone era. As a result, a Rothschild portrait wouldn’t look out of place 100 years ago, and would not look dated to a future generation.
